Amélie, our daughter instantly fell in love with this little wooden house that seems to have escaped from the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel. Chalet Amélie was completely renovated and extended with great care and love in the period 2019-2021. The original structure of the chalet from 1978 was preserved, to which the chalet now owes its beautiful wood tone. The entire chalet is equipped with shutters that can be easily opened and closed.
Bird houses were strategically hung on the trees on the terrain, so from the chalet you can see birds coming and going. Squirrels are also among our regular daily visitors.
This chalet is equipped with all modern comforts, i.e. central heating on natural gas, wood stove, smart TV, DVD player, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, dolce gusto espresso machine, kettle, air fryer, juicer, electronic scales, stone and raclette grill, outdoor charcoal barbecue, washing machine, dryer, modern bathroom with rain shower ... Authenticity with all comforts, wonderful!

We created an ideal seating area full of cosiness and comfort, where you can relax. A warm, cosy sitting area to relax in after a day of walking, mountain biking or just to chill, rest, enjoy, talk, relax, ... The seating area is formed by a 2-seater and 3-seater with pouf and a wood-burning stove.
Cooking will be a joy in the completely renovated kitchen with a real bar with bar stools, which is the ideal aperitif or tasting bar. We bet that there will even be a fight for a place in the kitchen? After all, it is also the best place (apart from the terrace) to enjoy the evening sun. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooking plate, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, but also with a Dolce Gusto espresso machine, kettle, juicer, air fryer, stone and raclette grill. In terms of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and kitchen utensils, you will not be short of anything.
The brand new bathroom is in a modern design, of high quality and equipped with a toilet, two washbasins, enough cupboard space, central heating with towel warmer and a large rain shower. There is also a first aid kit in the bathroom.
Upstairs you will find a first bedroom with a very comfortable double bed and a sofa bed. In the room there is enough space to hang and put clothes. The room has a terrace that faces to the back and gives full view of the forest and only forest. And of course the squirrels and birds. When the shutters are closed the bedroom is completely darkened.
The 2nd bedroom upstairs has 2 single beds and a play area with a cosy beanbag, table and 2 chairs and a DVD player with children's DVDs.
In the wardrobe there are a number of games, but there is also enough space to store your clothes. Next to the wardrobe you can also hang up clothes.
This room also has a terrace, which overlooks the front of the chalet. The terrace of this room has a view on the front of the chalet. When the shutters are closed the bedroom is completely darkened.
In the storage room you will find a washing machine and a dryer. There is also a vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, iron and ironing board.
Enjoy the evening sun and the panoramic view at the front of the chalet on the picnic table. Or enjoy the gigantic terrace at the side of the house and the view of the endless forest. This way, you can keep a perfect eye on the children. There is also plenty of room for the children to play on the terrace. On the terrace you will also find a barbecue. Here you can also settle down in a comfortable lounge set.
Although children can already play endlessly in a forest, building camps, collecting pine cones, playing hide and seek,…

In the chalet there are reading books for adults, as well as DVDs for young and old, and board games for young and old. Also other games for small and slightly bigger children are available in abundance.
In the chalet you will also find numerous information brochures about what you can do in the area. Moreover, you will find a welcome folder in which we have compiled all useful telephone numbers and addresses, practical information about where to shop, where you can eat well and a lot of tourist information.
So boredom is certainly not an option.
Due to its location (in the woods, on a slope) there are many stairs. The chalet is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept pets, no matter how small and cute they are.
Chalet Amélie is surrounded by forest, and from the forest behind you can already start with a nice morning walk.
Or you can go to nearby Wéris, to do one of the historic Dolmen walking or cycling tours.
The golf course of Durbuy is within walking distance, and there are many activities in the area.

We are a family of three from the Belgian province of Limburg. Our daughter Amélie instantly fell in love with this little wooden house that seems to come straight out of the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale.
We are fond of cosiness, authenticity, charm and enjoying life. This chalet therefore represents everything that we are and what we stand for. We hope to give everyone who stays with us a unique, authentic experience and an unforgettable moment.
